Dougie has confirmed his split with Frankie Sandford via his personal Twitter.

I just wanted you all to hear it from me, me and Francesca have broken up. It is way to soon for either of us to be seeing other people, so please don’t believe any of the rumours. It was on good terms and she is still one of my best friends x

Frankie Sandford’s Jealous Boyfriend

Frankie Sandford‘s boyfriend is worried she will ”run away” with Robert Pattinson and banned her from attending the ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ premiere.

Frankie Sandford wasn’t allowed to go to the ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ premiere because her boyfriend was too jealous.

The Saturdays singer – who has been dating the McFly bassist Dougie Poynter for almost a year – said he hated the fact she had a crush on the British actor in the film, Robert Pattinson.

She said: “Robert Pattinson… I really wanted to go to his new film premiere, but my boyfriend Dougie wouldn’t let me. He said, ‘I’m not taking you, you’ll run away with him.’”

The 20-year-old popstar also revealed that on their first date, Dougie had a hangover.

She said: “I met him briefly at a show at G-A-Y, but we’d fancied each other from afar for about five years. When we met, he shook my hand and was really awkward.

“On our first date, the first thing he said was, ‘I’m really hungover and sometimes when I’m hungover I go into London and pass out, so I’m just warning you!’

“But we had a really good time – and we ended up being asked to leave the restaurant because they wanted to close. Everyone had packed up around us!”

McFly fulfilled one of their American fans’ biggest wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, taking her out to dinner. We’ve uploaded 1 MQ photo of the band with April, to the gallery:

April meets the McFly boys!

April came all the way from the USA to meet her favourite band – and they didn’t disappoint!

“The best night of my life – absolutely nothing can top it. McFly are the nicest people ever!”

That was 17 year old April’s verdict after Make-A-Wish arranged for her to spend some time with the four lads who together make up the hugely popular band McFly: Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry.

It’s a good thing that the wish was a huge success – April, who lives with renal failure, had flown over from Connecticut with her Mum and Dad especially for her to meet the band!

The big day started well when April found everyone staring at her as she got into the stretch limousine which picked up the family from their hotel. Loving the attention, she was so excited that she couldn’t eat as they travelled to lead singer Tom’s house in London, where April and the whole band enjoyed a chat. April was a little quiet at first, but she soon got into her stride and remembered all the questions she’d been planning to ask for weeks.

Before she knew it, an hour had whizzed past and it was time for everyone to head for a restaurant to share one of the most memorable meals of April’s life!

All the boys in the band were very friendly and patient and happily posed for pictures, before all signing the restaurant menu for April to treasure forever.

Last word goes to the band – they don’t need to worry; this was a day April will never forget:

“We had a really special time with April and her family – it’s amazing she came all the way from the USA just to see her favourite band. We hope we made it worthwhile.

Dougie and Harry did an interview for Now Magazine where they said they wouldn’t mind doing a duet with Frankie’s band, The Saturdays:

McFly are keen to make music with The Saturdays.

Guitarist Dougie Poynter, 21, who is dating girlband star Frankie Sandford, thinks it would be great for the 2 groups to team up .

‘That would be pretty sweet, we could dance with them,’ agrees Harry Judd, 23.

But Dougie doesn’t think the girls will be keen on the plan.

‘I don’t think they’d like to work with us,’ he admits.

‘It would be cool to work with someone people wouldn’t expect like Coolio or something.’

McFly have been named as the final mentors of the 2009 Celebrity Master Class programme run by Santander’s UK current account brands Abbey and Alliance & Leicester. Designed to provide inspiration to 16-to-21 year olds.

McFly: We admire Jonas Brothers

McFly’s Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have revealed they admire the Jonas Brothers because they work so hard.

The British band were invited to play with the American teen superstars at Wembley this year, and were bowled over by how focused they were.

Harry said: “They’re really nice guys, they’re cool – they’re very focused, they work really hard… they’re quite business minded and they’re always writing and recording stuff.”

McFly and the Jonas Brothers performed ‘Star Girl’ at Wembley together.

Dougie and Frankie were voted the ‘Cutest Couple Ever’ by Sugar magazine readers in their Teen Star Awards, beating the likes of ‘Zanessa’. Here’s 1 HQ scan of their full-page feature:
