McFly’s Trip Back to the “Dirty South”

9:38 pm in McFly, Media by Corinne

As you all know, McFly have been in Atlanta for the past few weeks, working with Dallas Austin. Dallas blogged on his official site about McFly’s visit:

McFly in the Dirty South!

Well, I know you guys have been wondering what me and my homes, McFly, have been up to. Well, we gotta get these albums done!! Therefore, we can’t blog all of the time. We also really love for you guys to feel like you are a part of what’s going on (since it’s for you anyway), so I took a couple of pictures for your enjoyment.

The guys drove into Atlanta in this blazing orange hot rod road runner and instantly felt right back at home in the dirty south. Harry didn’t get to come last time, some bullshit about a broken heart or something but he is in Atlanta in full effect. These guys are really adapting well to the southern lifestyle.

We have been keeping the most amazing song board ever made and here is a sneak peek. It started a little something like this……

Keep you posted.

See you on Ustream!

McFly’s Night Out In London

12:51 pm in McFly by Corinne

We think McFly might have been on the Jager Bombs last night…

McFly have been working pretty much flat-out on their upcoming album over the past few weeks, but last night they treated themselves to a night off and – we suspect – quite a few drinks at the same time.

Dougie, Tom and Danny were snapped making their way from Nobu to Bungalow 8 to Jet Black in London over the course of last night and were seemingly happy to pull some daft faces for the paps as they went. Poor Dougie needs a bit of cheering up after his relationship with Frankie Sandford sadly came to an end recently, and everyone knows getting happily drunk on the town with your mates is the best medicine.

Update: For those of you that are asking, the girl pictured with Dougie is definitely not his new girlfriend and it’s not his sister Jazzie, either. We spoke to the boys not long ago, and they told us she is just one of a large group of friends they were out with last night. You can take your Cilla Black hats off, people!

“The Future for McFly is About to Change”

Tom Fletcher: The future for McFly is about to change

We’re all excited for McFly’s next release, even more so because the details are few and far between. Well today Tom has mentioned it again…

When you’re stuck in traffic it gives you time to think, and that’s exactly what McFly’s Tom Fletcher did today.

Sitting in the jam, Tom thought about the band, the last album, the next album… and then shared his thoughts with his 195,000+ army of Twitter followers.

“I know it’s been almost 2 years since [Radio:Active] but it’s going to be worth the wait!”

Before adding in a somewhat cheesy fashion: “Over the next few months you’ll find out what we’ve been preparing for you. The future for Mcfly is about to change… and Mcfly are about to change the future.”

Danny & Meat Loaf to Collaborate?

1:40 am in McFly by Corinne

Danny Jones wants to work with Meat Loaf

Danny Jones wants to work with Meat Loaf… well it’s no more surprising than McFly working with Taio Cruz.

The McFly guitarist has apparently become close to the show judge in a series of backstage chats – according to The Sun.

Danny said: “Meat Loaf’s a lovely guy. He always comes and talks to me.

“It’d be amazing to work with him – how cool would that be? Meat, can I be on your new album please?”

“I’d like to see him do some kind of opera single. I believe he is opera-trained. It would be awesome.”

Danny also spoke about his band mates. He reckons Harry Judd could do opera – but isn’t so sure about Dougie Poynter or Tom Fletcher.

He said of this week’s workout: “Harry was the best, I truly believe he could be an opera singer.

“He properly got into it. Dougie struggled and Tom couldn’t roll his Rs so he’s got no chance.”

We’d love to see Danny duet with Meat Loaf, can someone make this happen please?

“McFly Album Has Different Sound”

Jones: ‘McFly album has different sound’

McFly star Danny Jones has revealed that the band’s new album is influenced by Prince and Michael Jackson.

Jones, who was voted off Popstar To Operastar last night, told the Daily Star that the album is “killer”.

“We’ve got the material and are building up the McFly massacre,” he said. “The album’s an absolute killer. It’s got a Prince and Michael Jackson influence.”

Jones added that the group are working with Taio Cruz and American producer Dallas Austin on the record.

“Taio’s a really cool guy,” Jones explained. “We’ve written tracks with him and we’re now trying to get him to produce one.

“It was awesome working with Dallas as he’s a bit of a party boy – he thinks he’s our fifth member. He’s coming over to the UK to produce four or five of our songs.”

McFly are reportedly in talks to return to their former record label Universal.

Here’s a short article on McFly’s upcoming album, which should be released in Spring next year:

McFly’s New Album “Will Blow You Away”

McFly’s Tom Fletcher has claimed the band’s next album “will blow you away”.

The four-piece have been recording songs for the follow-up to 2008′s ‘Radio:ACTIVE’ this year, which they have previously described as going in a “new direction”.

And now Fletcher has given a new update on the album’s progress, saying: “We spent a couple of weeks in Atlanta working with Dallas Austin and his awesome friends.

“We came up with some absolute tunes. The next album is gonna blow you away. [I] Can’t believe how awesome the songs are already.” Added Tom.

“Since then we’ve been home, getting in the mood for Christmas and catching up with friends. Apart from the odd car crash, it has been an amazing month.”

McFly are expected to release the album in Spring, 2010.

After abandoning MySpace for Twitter, Tom finally updates the blog again with a personal update. In it, he tries to fit everything McFly have been up to in the past month or more in a paragraph, resulting a jumbled and fast-paced run-through of rather crazy events!

Dallas’ Experience with McFly

1:28 am in McFly by Corinne

As you know, Tom, Danny and Dougie have just returned from a week spent in Atlanta, Georgia working in the studio with famous musician, songwriter and producer, Dallas Austin, and during their stay, were invited to dinner with Elton John! Here’s what Dallas himself blogged yesterday:

Dinner w/Elton & McFly!

12.10.09

Well, I’m awake now. Wheeew, long night! I had the most amazing session last night; well, this morning, considering I went to bed at 10am. Me & the guys from MCFLYD (I added a ‘D’ because I am the newest member, D.) We have made some fuckin’ amazing music this week! It is so good to be in the studio with talented musicians as well as a group of really close friends. The spirit of creativity can only prevail at its greatest when everyone allows it, and that’s what we did!! If you haven’t seen MCFLY on YouTube, you should take a look. It’s funny.

The first night they arrived, I was supposed to go to dinner with ELTON JOHN. Well, I had to cancel because of my session with the guys but when Elton found out, he said, “Bring the guys! I would love to meet them!” Of course the guys were ecstatic, so we went to the lobster bar and come to find out, they are from the same town in England that Elton is from! We hit it off all so well that I asked Elton if we could come see his AMAZING SUPER Atlanta art collection which contains a lot of TODD MURPHY art (my friend and favorite artist which Elton owns about 50 TODD MURPHY’S). He said sure, let’s do Mexican night. So we did. My good friend Farshid invited Ed Roland and Danny from REHAB so now we have an universal click and together can experience some of the most amazing pictures and art pieces ever! The tour guide is none other than ELTON – FUCKIN AMAZING!

Here’s a few pics from our wild sessions at the studio and at Elton’s. I’m pissed now because my man, DOUGIE – yes, DOUGIE is dating a girl named FRANKIE from a group called the SATURDAY’S. She’s been out with a guy from JLS while he’s been in the A and its been in the press in the UK. I just hate to see a friend disrespected. Other than that, short of DANNY setting his pubes on fire or THOMAS stealing one of my shoes, you guys have the story of how I became “MCFLYD” Look out for this album!
