On behalf of all the staff at Dougiefied, I’d like to wish you a happy and wonderful new year! Hopefully, you’ll make resolutions that you are able to keep and achieve everything you wish to achieve in 2010. On the right is a little ‘card’ I made for you all, so enjoy!

As we enter another year of Dougiefied and McFly, we’re again reminded that it’s been six long years! I’m not sure if I should be ashamed to say that I’ve kept this site for almost a third of my life, but leaving that thought aside…

Big Plans…

I’m suffering from a huge lack of creativity at the moment, so although I have huge plans for what the final version of the new Dougiefied will look like, I just can’t design it, which is unfortunate as it’s time to go back to university which means less time spent online.

However, I assure you that once I am able to, this site will be completely redesigned from the ground up, with tons of new features, a new partner site and an integrated forum and gallery.

I am looking for news posters, so if you’re regularly online and are able to find out news about McFly as often as possible and post it on the site, please send me a PM on the Forum. If you have knowledge of HTML and WordPress, it’d be even better!

Thanks for your patience. You may not notice it but I’ve been working on the site a lot behind the scenes (you can see some of my efforts compiling a complete list of McFly gigs in 2004 here). Bear with me and it will all be worth it, I promise!

Dougiefied’s Makeover

Welcome to the brand new Dougiefied website.

The site is now completely managed by WordPress, which will make it easier for me to update and for you to find what you want. At the moment, many sections of the site are hidden, as I need to transfer them to the new system, so bear with me.

I’ve added a feature where you can comment on news using your forum and gallery login, which means you only ever need to register once on Dougiefied! It’s that simple.

Over the coming weeks and months, I will be merging the site with the Forum and Gallery, and a brand new website will be launched to run alongside this one, so there’s plenty for you to look forward to!

A Few Changes…

Well, university has finished, so I’ve had a lot more time on my hands.

As you can see, the site has changed quite a bit in the past few days. I have widened the layout to allow for two sidebars which I think looks pretty cool. I have also added a calendar feature, which I will begin to add to soon. Any problems with the layout (and I am aware of them all I believe), will be ironed out in the coming week.

Keep checking back for more changes and updates.

A Small Problem…

My external hard-drive which had most of the site content on it decided to go kaput, so even though I have everything that is online, I may need a bit of time to get everything moving along again.

I’m also back at university this week, which will slow things down even more. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gallery Locations

For those who frequently visited the old gallery, you may have noticed that it has been replaced with the new Dougiefied members-only gallery. In fact, the old gallery can still be accessed at /4images until the new gallery is complete, so you can still find our collection of over 15000 images there.

All gallery updates from now on will be in relation to the new gallery, which can be found at Dougiefied using your forum login.

I have successfully integrated the forum and new gallery: they share the same layout and all members of Dougiefied can now access the new section. Click on the pictures to check it out:

Server Crash

Unfortunately, the server the site was hosted on crashed two days ago, and this site was only back up and restored today. It was impossible to salvage some of the data, and we lost almost a month’s worth of forum posts, images etc. as the site was restored from a back-up made on June 7th 2008.

Sorry for all this, it couldn’t have been prevented; hopefully we’ll be able to go from here with what we have.

Please do not contact me about the server issue, as I am quite aware that the site crashed and that posts and accounts have been lost. I’m sorry if you lost anything, the best we can do is just start again. Members who registered after June 7th will need to re-register.

Thank you Gertie for being and amazing host and sorting this out so quickly.

Looking For Co-Web

I’m sorry about the lack of updates. I’ve had a lot on my mind recently, and I’ve also become really behind on school work, so I’ve had to focus more on that instead of the site. When I’m back on track, I’ll be adding all the recent photos and news again, so don’t worry.

I also apologise for the downtime between 26th – 28th March – the domain had to be renewed, but all has been sorted out now, and it seems as if we’ll be around for another 2 years at least, for I have renewed the domain until March 2010!

[Site] Downtime Reason (26th-28th March 2007)

Because I don’t have too much time to spend on this site at the moment, and would appreciate extra help, I’m looking or a co-web who’d be able to spend at least an hour a day on the site, forums and gallery, making sure the site is updated and everything is running smoothly.

Dougie-Poynter.com has decided to start hosting fanlistings for you to join. I’ve been an owner of several fanlistings in the past, so I decided to take a look at TheFanlistings.org and see how it was going. Problems With The Site

There are a few problems I have run into after the new layout, so I’ll list them below before anyone starts emailing me about it.

The Downloads section has been deleted off the server due to a vulnerability in the script I was using. I didn’t have a very large downloads section, so I’m not too annoyed, and I’m sure you all didn’t notice. It will remain off the server until I can find time to fix this and find a better script.
The FAQ section is also not working. The questions have not been lost but there are problems displaying them. This will be fixed ASAP!

Any other problems can be reported to me.

The Dougiefied Forums Downtime

I have disabled access to Dougiefied temporarily, as I upgrade the forums to the newer version of phpBB.After running into a few problems installing a new feature, I thought I might as well upgrade to phpBB3, so that I will get better support and I had to do it sometime anyway!Everything that had been posted up to when I disabled the board has been backed-up and should be transferred to the new version smoothly. If there are any problems, I will let you know of them.Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Please do not contact me regarding the boards being disabled – there is a clear notice on the forums explaining why you cannot access your posts.

The New & Improved Site

Hey guys, welcome back and thanks for the patience. I’ve been busy as usual with coursework and the like, therefore I thought that putting the site on a break would be the best thing to do. Anyway, the site has gone through a few new changes.

For one, the system I use to update the news has been changed. You can still find the list of old articles by clicking on “Archive” at the bottom of this page. I find CuteNews easier to use and although I was a big fan of the old system, the script was discontinued and help is not available if I run into problems.

Secondly, and very importantly, we now have a News Team and a new Co-Web. Andy, our new Co-Web is 17, from the UK Midlands, and is currently doing his AS Levels. Hopefully, with his help I can really improve the site and keep it more up to date.

If you want to become a helper, I am employing members and visitors of the site to help me with the news – therefore being the News Team. You should have a little knowledge of html and it’d be very useful if you had sources or you were always up to date with McFly. Email me or comment with your email address if you want more details.

I have also re-installed the downloads section. You now no longer need to enter your Dougiefied login to download files. I will start to add to the library as soon as possible.

I hope you like the new look, and sorry for putting the site on BRB again. Now i’ll let Andy get on with introducing himself!
