Dougiefied first arrived as Dougie Online in August 2004 on a free server, and was created to make up for the lack of Dougie and McFly fansites on the web which provided information other than that from the official site. Less than a month later, the site was moved onto the Fan-Sites.org network and the domain name, Dougie-Poynter.com, was bought to make the site more accessible. Dougiefied quickly gained attention from fans, and over the next few years, gradually transformed from a small source of information into a huge fanbase – with a thriving community, thousands of pictures and tons of media.

Five years later, Dougiefied is now one of the largest and most popular Dougie Poynter and McFly fansites on the internet, not to mention the longest-running. The community has become a ’second home’ for many of its members, and thanks to the supportive moderators, staff and loyal members, it looks like it’ll remain strong for years to come.

Achievements

Dougiefied is the longest-running and only UK-based Dougie Poynter domain fansite on the entire web. It also hosts the largest photo gallery for Dougie and McFly on the web, and the biggest Dougie Poynter related community.

In regards to publicity and Dougie’s acknowledgement of Dougiefied, the site address has been mentioned on stage by the band in a conversation between Tom and Dougie and has also been shown on the big screen when a poster with the site address in the audience was filmed at the Blackpool Illuminations.
